MOTOR VEHICLE ADVENTURE Four wheels and Conservation!
The Sierra Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park, with a spanse of 40.600 hectares, contains an impressive mass of mountains that forms a geographical boundary between the provinces of Malaga and Granada. The first marks the point of highest elevation in Axarquía, the second descends into Alhama in Granada.
In the Sierra Tejeda, the most western mountain range, consistent limestone predominates, with some Eocene terrain, sandstone and marbled limestone. The Sierra Almijara is the largest and most eastern mountain range and has formations based in marble dolomites, forming one of the most significant masses of this composition in the entire country.
The landscape offers an abrupt and craggy surface with steep slopes, alternated with its characteristic crests in diverse rows that frame the valleys and deep ravines that form a perpendicular line to the coast. The Sierra Tejeda has the maximum altitude with the emblematic peak La Maroma (2.068m).
